Eiga Sai : 2017 Japanese Film Fest @ Shangri-La

Being a graduate of Communication Arts, I will always have a weak spot for foreign films.

I took Communication Arts for the love of films! So when a French Film Fest or Spanish Film is in town, I get really excited like the rest. But due to my 9-5 stint, I rarely get to go to see these foreign films. FML, I know!

In 2015, I was able to watch one film at Eiga Sai with a college friend. He's an Indie film enthusiast/supporter and a huge fan of theater! Very glad that he tagged me along to watch WOOD JOB! ウッジョブ!

Here's WOOD JOB! ウッジョブ! trailer:

I kind of already forgot half of the scenes of this film but I vividly remember I enjoyed watching it. I like how the story of this movie evolved and revolved only from wood working. Simple plot. Fantastic story.

In 2016, I was busy dating a Japanese guy. So I skipped the film fest and regretted it afterwards.

Although, I'm supposed to see "films" in this year's Eiga Sai, I personally would like catch TSUKIJI WONDERLAND. It is a documentary about Tsukiji Market, known to be the largest in the world to be selling fish, fruits, and vegetables located in Tokyo which started its operations in 1930s. The reason I want to see this is because the Japanese government is closing the market and will move it to a new location by 2018 in preparation for the 2020 Olympics.

If you decide to watch a particular title and get there in time of the screening, then good job and good for you! Otherwise, just prepare yourself to be surprised by a film you'll catch by the time you get there at Shang. Also, mind the long queues!

Okay, my Engrish sucks here. Moving on.
