The first time I have heard of Adobe Illustrator was in 2009 by a co-worker, a Graphic Artist in my first company. That was also my first time I saw it's interface. But I did not learn the software back then. I was just introduced.
It was a year after that I had a lot of free time to learn the software. Another Graphic Artist who I worked with gave me a CD of tutorial. It was
lynda.com. They're effective for a newbie like me. I learned the basics almost immediately.
